What is actually on every page

This is a production sheet, not a recipe.

A recipe says "add some SLES". A production sheet says 120 g, why it is there, what happens if you skip it, and what pH the finished product must read. Every one of the 255+ pages looks like this.

Why free formulas fail

The batch separates, the cream grows mould, the candle tunnels. Here's why.

Most formulas online are missing the five things that make a product survive a shelf. These books were written to put exactly those five back.

What a free formula gives you

  • "Some" surfactant, "a bit of" thickener — no gram values
  • No target pH, so the product stings, separates or doesn't clean
  • No preservative dose — mould in week three
  • No QC check, so you find out from the customer
  • No packing spec, shelf life or hazard note

What every page here gives you

  • Exact grams and millilitres, mass-balanced to 1000
  • Target pH range, and how to adjust it
  • Preservative named, dosed and marked mandatory
  • QC check that tells you the batch is right before it ships
  • Pack type, shelf life, hazard notes and the critical point

Aarav Mehta
Aarav MehtaHome & Cleaning Product Manufacturer

I wanted practical formulas, not theory. This gave me a much clearer picture of how each cleaning product is actually made and what to watch while preparing a batch. It sits on my production desk now.

The cosmetic formulations are laid out simply and in order. Having the function of every ingredient next to its quantity, with the method step by step, made skincare and hair-care development far easier to understand and repeat.

The range is what sold me. Cleaning, personal care and fragrance products in one set — I could explore all three without hunting for separate references. It gave me a far better starting point for product development.

Who this is for — and who it isn't

Written plainly, so the money goes to the right place.

Built for

  • Anyone starting a cleaning, personal-care or fragrance product business
  • Small manufacturers who want to add SKUs without hiring a formulator
  • Existing brands that want to bring production in-house
  • Chemists, ITI/pharmacy students and homemakers turning skill into income
  • Anyone who has tried a free formula and watched the batch separate

Not for

  • Anyone who will skip goggles, gloves and ventilation — several formulas use acids, alkalis and solvents
  • Anyone expecting to print "kills 99.9%" on a label without a lab report — no claim here may be printed without testing your own batch
  • Anyone who won't trial-batch first — raw-material grade and water vary; every formula must be trial-batched before commercial production
  • Anyone wanting to resell or redistribute the books — each copy is individually traceable

Common questions

Can I sell products made from these formulas?

Yes. Each copy is licensed for personal and commercial production — you may manufacture and sell products made using these formulations. You may not reproduce, translate or redistribute the book itself. Labelling, licences and registrations for your jurisdiction remain your responsibility.

Are the raw materials available in India?

Yes. The books use Indian raw-material names and grades — SLES 28%, BKC, LABSA, CAPB, perfumer's alcohol base and so on — the names your local chemical supplier already uses.

Do I need a lab or a chemistry degree?

No. You need a weighing scale, a pH meter or strips, basic vessels, safety equipment and a ventilated space. Every method is written for a 1 kg batch on a table. What you do need is the discipline to trial-batch before you scale.

Can I print "kills 99.9% germs" or "SPF 30" on my label?

Not from the book. No efficacy figure, kill percentage or protection factor may be printed on a commercial label without a test report from an accredited laboratory on your own batch. The books give you the formula; the claim needs your test.

Is the soft copy really free with the hard copy?

Yes. Order the hard copy and you get lifetime online access immediately — you don't wait for the books to arrive. No extra charge.

Are these safe to make at home?

Many are. Several are not without proper protection — the toilet cleaners, bleach, drain openers and solvent-based products use corrosive acids, strong alkalis, oxidisers and flammable solvents. The books open with a minimum-safety section, and each hazardous formula carries its own handling note. Read them, and never mix acid with anything containing chlorine.

MASTERYBOOKS · PROFESSIONAL FORMULATION SERIES — First Edition

These books describe the manufacture of chemical, cosmetic and fragrance products. Several formulations use corrosive acids, strong alkalis, oxidising agents and flammable solvents that can cause severe burns, eye injury, fire or toxic gas if mishandled. Formulations are provided for informational and educational purposes; raw-material assay, water quality, ambient conditions and equipment vary, and every formulation must be trial-batched and tested by the reader before commercial production. Anyone manufacturing for sale is responsible for all applicable registrations, licences, labelling and declaration requirements in their jurisdiction. No efficacy claim appearing in these books may be printed on a commercial label without an accredited laboratory test report on the reader's own batch. The publisher accepts no liability for any loss, injury or claim arising from use or misuse.
